This is a Twitter icon. We've made it in iOS style, first introduced in iOS version 7 and supported in all later releases up until now (at least iOS 11). This style is based on thin two-pixel lines and is optimized for 50x50 px. Unlike other vector icon packs that have merely hundreds of icons, this icon pack contains 12,400 icons, all in the same style and quality.
Congratulations, you’ve found one of our most beloved free icons! This little guy might look like a simple vector bird, but it’s so much more. This icon represents one of the greatest technological achievements of the 21st century. Twitter has democratized the Internet and the world with the ability to:
Show and tell millions of people what you're eating with the click of a button
Follow your favorite celebrities and see what they’re eating with the click of a button
Expose worldwide social injustices and your naked butt at the same time
Complain to the entire Internet about seeing pictures of people’s food
Engage in flame wars from the comfort of your toilet
Be befriended by hundreds of spam bots and still have self-esteem issues.
Usage Story about Twitter Icon
Twitter has always remained true to its main purpose: to let people speak their mind, in 140 characters or less. On Twitter, people with a tendency to talk to themselves are set free. If you are a non-Twitter user and wondering how it all works, think of it as walking down the street by yourself and commenting on stuff out loud as you stroll along, hoping someone would agree with you and join in. Yup, it is very much like the daily routine of an alienated crazy person, just more “socially acceptable”.
While its use has been more or less the same, the Twitter logo has gone through several changes since it flew into the world in 2006. The Twitter bird icon, formerly called Larry, has been drawn and re-drawn repeatedly to keep up with the evolution of the brand. The bird that we know today has been streamlined and kept simple—it has a perfectly curved head, an upturned beak, three feathers on its wing, faces right, and inclined upwards.
Other symbols associated with Twitter, which also play important roles within the site, are:
Hashtag—often attached before the word blessed
Star—previously stands for the now-defunct ‘favorite’ function (now called ‘like’)
Retweet—used whenever a tweet is either socially relevant or funny and the world needs to know
Tweet, retweet, like, hashtag. These icons are about as good as an egg about to hatch.
